We have our avid football fans, then we have fans of the foods and appetizers that come with the game. Of course, that doesn’t rule out those that show up for both!
With the Super Bowl coming up soon as one of our top reasons to get together and party, it’s time to gather the menu for tasty treats that will give everyone a reason to get pumped up and excited! Here are some winners that are sure to score even if your favorite team doesn’t!
Buffalo Chicken Roll Ups
As of recent years, it’s not a fulfilling game day without Buffalo chicken dip. Here’s the same great taste rolled up with an easy-to-handle twist!
Ingredients
- 3 packs of 2″ Original Stonefire Naan Bread
- 1 lb chicken shredded
- 1 cup buffalo sauce
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Spray 24 muffin tins with non-stick cooking spray.
- Thoroughly combine shredded chicken and buffalo sauce in a large bowl.
- Place naan on a baking sheet and bake in preheated oven for 4 minutes to soften.
- Cut each naan into four even strips.
- Top each strip with cream cheese, buffalo chicken, and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Roll strips from one side to the other then place roll into prepared muffin tin.
- Sprinkle with more cheese.
- Repeat until all tins are filled.
- Bake for an additional 6-8 minutes or until naan is lightly browned.
- Remove from oven and serve hot or at room temperature with ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.
Crispy Garlic Parmesan Wings
Wings are another football favorite and these will send your taste buds into overtime!
Ingredients – Wings
- 2 pounds of plump, organic chicken wings
- 2 Tablespoons avocado oil
- 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Ingredients – Sauce
- 5 Tablespoons salted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp dried parsley
- 1/3 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Allow chicken wings to reach room temperature, about 30 minutes before prepping.
- Position oven rack in the middle of oven.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. (Optional, but makes cleanup easier.)
- Place an oven-safe wire rack on the lined baking sheet.
- Combine the avocado oil, salt, and garlic powder in a large bowl.
- Toss wings in the seasoning then place them in a single layer, evenly spaced on the wire rack.
- Bake for 25 minutes.
- Turn the wings over and bake for another 20 minutes or until browned and crispy.
- Before the wings are done, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Immediately after the butter has melted, add the garlic and parsley and cook for one minute, stirring continuously.
- Pour the sauce in a large, clean bowl, add the cheese and stir to combine.
- Add the wings to the sauce and toss until well-coated.
- Serve immediately while warm.
Spinach Artichoke Cups
Another popular dip has turned the corner toward an easier-to-serve and eat option!
Ingredients
- 48 wonton wrappers
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/3 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 1/2 cups frozen chopped spinach thawed and drained
- 15 oz canned artichoke quarters
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
Instructions – Cups
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Spray mini muffin tins with non-stick cooking spray.
- Press a wonton wrapper into each of the baking cups with your fingers to create a cup.
- Bake for 7-8 minutes or until lightly browned and crispy.
- Remove cups from the tin and cool on a wire rack.
- Fill cooled cups with spinach artichoke dip filling and serve warm.
Instructions – Spinach Dip Filling
- Heat cream cheese in a microwave-safe bowl for one minute or until soft.
- Mix the mayo, yogurt, garlic powder, and salt into the cream cheese.
- Add in the chopped spinach, artichokes, and Parmesan cheese.
- Stir until well combined.
Football Rice Krispie Treats
The old tradition has come a long way! All the way to the Super Bowl celebrations…and kids will love them!
Ingredients
- 4 cups Cocoa flavored Rice Krispy Cereal
- 4 cups mini-marshmallows
- 3 tablespoons butter
- Vanilla frosting
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add marshmallows and heat until melted and smooth, making sure the mixture doesn’t burn.
- Add cereal and mix until well coated.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes, but still pliable.
- Roll mixture into balls slightly larger than a golf ball and press flat on parchment paper.
- Form into football shapes.
- When cool, use a small icing tip and frosting for laces of the “footballs.”
