As we “spring forward” on Sunday, March 9, 2025, for Daylight Saving Time, many of us may feel the impact of losing an hour of sleep. While the benefit is longer daylight in the evenings, the downside is that mornings can feel a bit tougher as our bodies adjust to the new schedule. There are a few things to brighten those tough mornings though – like enticing deals on coffee and breakfast.
Here are some ways to score discounted eats and freebies the week following the change. Some are specifically offered for the time change while others are good deals offered at the right time.
Burger King
To help keep you energized following the time change, Burger King is giving its Royal Perks members freebies with a $1+ purchase Sunday – Thursday and Saturday, plus they have a special Pi Day deal on Friday:
- March 9: Free Croissan’wich with $1+ (pictured with sausage)
- March 10: Free 4 Pc. Churro Fries with $1+
- March 11: Free Md Iced Coffee with $1+
- March 12: Free 5 Pc. French Toast Sticks with $1+
- March 13: Free Large Hash Browns with $1+
- March 14 – National Pi Day: Free Hershey Pie with $3.14+
- March 15: Free Sausage Biscuit with $1+

Bruegger’s Bagels
When you sign up for the Bruegger’s Rewards Program you’ll be rewarded with a free bagel and cream cheese with a purchase offer just for signing up. You’ll also get free hot or iced coffee with purchase any time you order ahead online or using the Bruegger’s app. That should come in handy after we “spring forward.”
Einstein Bros. Bagels
Signing up for the Einstein Bros. Bagels Rewards program will get you a free bagel and shmear with purchase plus free hot or iced coffee with purchase as long as you made a purchase the month before. If you have earned this reward, it’s the perfect time to cash in.
McDonald’s
Through the end of March, McDonald’s has a BOGO Egg McMuffin with Sausage deal for app users who order McDelivery. Treat yourself and a friend to a tasty McMuffin to ease the time transition.

Starbucks
Coffeehouse giant, Starbucks recently launched a free refills program that you may want to take advantage of following the time change. To qualify, you need to order your drink “for here.” That means your beverage will be served in a Starbucks-provided mug or glass, or even in your own clean, reusable cup from home.
Once you’ve got your drink, you can enjoy unlimited refills of hot brewed coffee, iced coffee, hot tea, or iced tea. It doesn’t matter what drink you started with. If you kicked things off with a caramel macchiato, you can still get a free refill of hot coffee or tea.
However, some drinks are excluded from the deal, including cold brew, nitro cold brew, iced tea lemonade, flavored iced teas, and Starbucks Refreshers. So while you won’t be able to get endless refills of specialty drinks, you can still keep the caffeine flowing with classic brewed coffee or tea.

Wendy’s
Wendy’s has a few breakfast deals to help ease the shift in time during the week after DST starts.
