I Used the Wendy’s App Every Day for 30 Days—Here’s What You Should Know

If you’re anything like me, you love a good deal—especially when it involves food. So, I decided to put the Wendy’s app to the test by checking it every day for an entire month. I wanted to see if it really delivers on savings, how often the deals change, and which offers are actually worth it. Spoiler alert: there were a lot of tasty perks! Whether you’re a fan of their spicy nuggets or just want to grab lunch without breaking the bank, here’s what I discovered and how you can get in on the savings too.

Signing up for Wendy’s Rewards is free and easy and downloading the app puts all your goodies and offers in the palm of your hand. Some perks for joining include:

  • Get 10 points for every $1 spent to use toward free food
  • Get exclusive access to offers online and in the Wendy’s app

Type of Deals

Onto the deals! App offers differ from standard deals you’ll find on the Wendy’s menu like the Biggie Bag, combos, or bundles. These offers must be applied to your order online or in the app, or added to your order in person using a QR code. Let’s dive into the types of deals I saw over the course of a month and takeaways so we can all cash in on deals like these soon!

BOGOs

Early in the month, Wendy’s ran a deal for buying one Asiago Ranch Chicken Club or Pepper Ranch Chicken Sandwich and getting a second for $1. After a few days the deal changed to $2 and later expired. Other BOGOs throughout the month included buying one classic or spicy chicken sandwich and getting another for $1.

Takeaway: There’s usually some kind of BOGO available, so if you’re not sure what to order, start by checking for these offers. When new menu items are introduced, there’s a good chance you’ll find them offered as a BOGO too.

2-for-$ and 3-for-$

A couple of mix-and-match deals that came out through the month included choosing two or three items from the following: Dave’s Single, Classic Chicken Sandwich, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, 10 piece nuggets – spicy or regular – and both deals were for $7. When the deal was for three items I grabbed a Spicy Chicken Sandwich and Dave’s Single for myself and got 10 regular nuggets for my kiddo (and I got to eat the last two nuggets too). Feeding two people for $7 is pretty darn good in my book!

Takeaway: When the previously mentioned BOGO price increased by $1, this deal increased by one menu item – 3 for $7 versus 2 for $7. Keep your eyes peeled for one deal going up in price and see if another has gone down making it a better deal.

Free X with Purchase of $

One of the staples on the Wendy’s app is a deal for any size fries free with purchase of $5 or more. Not bad. But if you hold out until Friday, that deal becomes any size fries free with any purchase so you don’t have to hit the $5 minimum. A similar deal popped up for a free crispy chicken sandwich with a purchase of $3 and another for a free kids meal with purchase of a premium combo.

Takeaway: If you’re craving a burger or sandwich look for the $5+ deal to complement your order with fries for no extra charge. And if you’re craving fries, look for a deal like the crispy chicken sandwich one for ideas on what to complement your fries. After all, who doesn’t love fries?

$X Off with Purchase of $

Two deals that look like they’re always available on Wendy’s app are $3 off a purchase of $15 or more and $5 off a purchase of $25 or more.

Takeaway: If you’re ordering a lot of food and nothing fits the other offers, check for these deals to save yourself a few bucks without having to order any specific items.

Wendy’s Wednesdays

This midweek pick-me-up is always there to help you power through Wednesday: a free six-piece chicken nugget (spicy or regular) with any purchase. This is one of my favorites. I buy fries for a few bucks and get six spicy nuggets for free making it a complete meal!

Takeaway: Knowing this one is always there on Wednesdays means you can easily plan a midweek meal on the go (and on a budget.)

Calendar with pages curled
Time-Sensitive Promotions

Wendy’s runs specials for everything from March Madness to National Girl Scout Day.

Takeaway: Even if you start to recognize the patterns of deals – nuggets on Wednesdays, fries on Fridays, etc. – there will always be one-off promotions to be on the lookout for.

Overall Takeaways and Tips

  • The best variety and biggest savings often show up at the beginning of the month.
  • Wendy’s app offers more daily deals than many other fast food apps.
  • Offers can be used for ordering on the app or in-person using a QR code.
  • Some deals last only a day while others have longer shelf life so plan accordingly.

After 30 days of checking the Wendy’s app daily, I can confidently say it’s worth a spot on your phone. The app constantly rotates offers—from BOGOs to bonus items and limited-time promotions—so there’s usually something to take advantage of. If you’re strategic and check regularly, you can stretch your fast food dollars much further. My best tip? Keep an eye out at the beginning of the month and around holidays or events, and don’t forget those weekly favorites like Wendy’s Wednesdays and Fry-day deals.
