And these days trying to copy the items that keep you coming back to a favorite restaurant is a mission worth being on! Often we don’t live close to our favorite locations or the cravings don’t line up with the hours of operation. The only thing left to do is to copy! Make your own match-ups at home with these copycat bread recipes that will keep you coming back for more!

Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits

This one can be done two ways…the easy way and the easier way. Here are both versions!

The easy way:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup, sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 3/4 cup cold milk 
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 6 Tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp dried parsley flakes
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400.
  • Combine Bisquick and cold butter with a fork.
  • Add cheese, milk and 1/4 tsp garlic.
  • Mix by hand until combined, but don’t over mix.
  • Drop 9 equal portions onto greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 15-17 minutes or until tops are lightly browned.
  • Melt 6 Tbsp butter in a bowl.
  • Stir in garlic powder and parsley flakes.
  • Spread garlic butter on top of biscuits.

The easier way:

Ingredients

  • You’ll need shredded cheddar cheese, butter, and water

Olive Garden Breadsticks

Ahhh! Pasta and breadsticks! Now you can serve the best at home! This recipe makes 16!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 tsp dry active yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water divided
  • 4 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 Tbsp butter softened
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt

Topping:

  • 3 Tbsp butter melted
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp oregano

Instructions

  • To make the dough, place 1/4 c warm water in a bowl and sprinkle yeast on top, stir and allow to sit for 5 minutes, until foamy.
  • Add sugar, butter, salt, and 4 cups of flour into another bowl.
  • Add in yeast mixture, remaining water, and mix until a sticky dough forms.
  • Add 1/3 cup of additional flour and continue mixing until a soft, smooth dough forms.
  • Place on floured countertop and divide dough in half, forming two one-foot-long logs of dough.
  • Cut each log into 8 even pieces.
  • Roll each piece into a 7-inch long breadstick to make 16 breadsticks.
  • Place the breadsticks on a parchment-lined cookie sheet, 1- 1 1/2 inches apart.
  • Cover with a cloth and let rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 400.
  • Make the topping and brush the breadsticks with 1/2 the mixture before baking.
  • Bake until lightly golden brown, 12-15 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and brush with the remaining butter mixture.

Texas Roadhouse Rolls

These are a little more work than some breads, but boy are they worth it!

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 cup milk, room temperature
  • 6 Tbsp butter, melted and divided
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 1/2 – 4 cups flour

Instructions

  • Combine warm water and yeast.
  • Let it sit for 10-15 minutes until the yeast dissolves.
  • Add milk, 4 Tbsp of butter, sugar, eggs and salt.
  • Lightly mix everything together, using the dough hook of your mixer, for approximately one minute.
  • Gradually add flour to the bowl, one cup at a time, mixing after each addition until it forms a soft dough.
  • It is ready when the dough comes clean from the edges of the bowl when mixing.
  • Place the dough in an oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap or a damp cloth.
  • Allow dough to rise for approximately 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough and roll on a floured surface until the dough is approximately 1/2” thick.
  • Cut the dough into 20-24 square pieces using a pizza cutter. 
  • Spray 2 baking sheets with non-stick cooking spray and place the dough squares on the baking sheets at least 1” apart.
  • Cover and let rise for approximately 30 minutes until they double in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Bake the rolls for 12-15 minutes until the rolls are light golden brown.
  • Top with the remaining melted butter.

Cheesecake Factory Honey Wheat Bread

We all love those brown bread loaves, making it hard to choose. But how can you go wrong with The Cheesecake Factory? This makes 3 loaves!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for kneading
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • Rolled oats for topping

Instructions

  • In a stand mixer, combine all the flours, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and yeast. Set aside.
  • Mix the warm water, butter, molasses, and honey in a medium-sized bowl.
  • Make a hole in the dry ingredients and pour the water mixture in.
  • Mix with stand mixer until the dough comes together.
  • Remove dough from bowl and knead by hand for 5-8 minutes, adding flour lightly if dough is too sticky.
  • Oil another bowl with 1 tablespoon of oil and place the ball of dough inside.
  • Roll it around in the oil coating all sides.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 2 hours.
  • Divide dough into 3 pieces.
  • Roll each piece into a 9-inch log.
  • Place the logs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Sprinkle tops with rolled oats.
  • Score tops lightly with a sharp knife.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and allow to rise for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Bake loaves for 30 minutes, then cool on a wire rack when done.
