When To Root For Overtime

Super Bowl LIX will be played Sunday, Feb. 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana where Kansas City will make their third appearance in a row. This year the Chiefs will take on the Philadelphia Eagles – a repeat of Super Bowl LVII in 2023. Kick off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET (5:30 p.m. CT; 3:30 p.m. PT). But the key to free wings? The game must go into overtime!

When To Cash In On Free Wings

If the game indeed goes into overtime, Buffalo Wild Wings will have to pay up with Monday, Feb. 24 from 2 – 5 p.m. local time. Anyone in the US is invited to cash in on six free wings – boneless or bone-in – in person for dine-in or take-out with no purchase necessary

“Are we crazy for bringing our overtime deal back after last year’s turnout? Maybe! After giving away over 2.5 million wings last year, we know it’s a bold move to bring it back,” said BWW’s chief marketing officer Tristan Meline in a statement.

What Are The Chances We Get Free Wings?

Last year, Super Bowl LVIII indeed went to overtime which makes it feel promising. According to Sports Illustrated, of the 58 Super Bowls only two have gone to overtime – in 2024 as mentioned and in 2017. Could this year be lucky number 3?

What Kind Of Wings Will We Score?

B-Dubs has 26 different dry rubs and sauces so you can start dreaming up what your six-piece will be flavored with. Will you go for a classic like Sweet BBQ Sauce or Original Buffalo Sauce – available mild to hot? Or try something a bit different like Mango Habanero Sauce, Thai Curry Sauce, or Chipotle BBQ Dry Rub? You’ll also choose between traditional bone-in wings or boneless wings.

Consolation Prizes?

If the game doesn’t go into overtime – all bets are off – meaning no free wings. But B-Dubs does have a lineup up BOGOs each week to consider:

Monday: Buy one burger and side at regular price and receive a second of equal or lesser value for free.

Tuesday: Buy one order of traditional wings at regular price and receive a second of equal or lesser value for 50% off.

Wednesday: Buy one burger and side at regular price and receive a second of equal or lesser value for free.

Thursday: Buy one order of boneless wings at regular price and receive a second of equal or lesser value for free.

Will this year’s Super Bowl give us another overtime thriller—and, more importantly, free wings? History suggests the odds are slim, but anything can happen in football! Either way, Buffalo Wild Wings has plenty of wing flavors and weekly deals to keep you satisfied long after the final whistle. So grab your lucky jersey, get ready for the big game, and cross your fingers for overtime. After all, free wings taste even better when they come with a little extra excitement!
