Just because someone is a famous celebrity, it doesn’t mean they can’t cook! If you do a bit of digging, it is pretty astonishing that many have their own favorite recipes, many of which they came up with themselves! Some may be clinging to comfort foods from childhood or leaning toward a healthier twist on an old favorite. Though the life of the rich and famous may seem like total glitz and glamor, there’s something about those comfort foods derived from a recipe that draws one in with sights, scents, and tastes specifically special to them. So, here is an early gift to you that will set your table with easy, show-stopper dishes straight from the stars themselves!

Dolly Parton’s Five-Layer Dinner

Ingredients

  • 3 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 pound of lean ground beef, browned and crumbled
  • 2 large onions, sliced with rings separated
  • 2 large tomatoes, sliced or one (15 oz) can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 green bell peppers, chopped
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Olive oil, as needed

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with butter or nonstick spray.
  • Layer potatoes on the bottom dish and drizzle with olive oil.
  • Top with ground beef.
  • Layering each ingredient, add the onions next, then tomatoes and bell peppers, seasoning with salt and pepper between each layer.
  • Cover tightly with foil and bake for two hours.

Dolly Parton’s Famous Walnut Pie

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, spice up your dessert table with another perfectly fitting favorite of sweet Dolly!

Ingredients

  • 1 fold-out pie crust (thawed)
  • 3 eggs
  • ¾ cup of sugar
  • ¾ cup light corn syrup
  • 1½ cups of chopped walnuts
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons real butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream

Instructions

  • Pre-heat oven to 400°F.
  • Line a 9-inch pie pan with unrolled crust.
  • In a large bowl, beat eggs with a hand mixer.
  • Add sugar, corn syrup, vanilla, and salt gradually to eggs, mixing until combined.
  • Add melted butter and mix again until thoroughly combined.
  • Pour mixture into the pie shell.
  • Add walnuts, spreading evenly through mixture.
  • Bake 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 300°F and bake for 45 minutes more.
  • After 30 minutes, add a rim of foil around crust to prevent burning.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool to room temperature.
  • Top with whipped cream.

Olivia Newton John’s Lemon Chicken

Olivia’s talent, sweet spirit, and beauty will be forever missed. Remembering her with one of her favorites is more than fitting during the season of Thankfulness.

Ingredients

  • One 3-pound organic whole chicken
  • 1 large lemon
  • 2½ tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • Salt, pepper
  • Roasted sweet potatoes
  • Steamed broccoli

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400ºF.
  • Lightly grease a roasting pan and place a wire rack in the base of the pan.
  • Trim any excess fat from the chicken and discard the neck.
  • Rinse the chicken (including the cavity) under cold running water and pat dry with paper towels. -Season the cavity with sea salt and black pepper.
  • Using a fork, prick the lemon thoroughly and place inside the chicken cavity.
  • Rub the oil or butter over the outside of the chicken.
  • Roast the chicken for 45 minutes to an hour, or until the juices run clear when the thigh is pierced.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool, covered, for 10 minutes before serving.
  • Serve the chicken with roasted sweet potatoes, steamed broccoli, or a green salad.

Candace Cameron Bure’s Pico de Tuna

Candace may be highly remembered from Full and Fuller House, but her recipe choices are lighter than most, resulting in her beaming demeanor and smile, accompanied with an all over infectious glow!

Ingredients

  • 1 pouch, 2.6 oz. StarKist Tuna Creations, Jalapeno
  • ¼ cup chopped sweet onion
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp. minced cilantro
  • ¼ tsp. freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 Tbsp. sliced scallions
  • Baked tortillas and/or cut vegetables

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl mix onion, tomatoes and cilantro together.
  • Gently add tuna and combine.
  • Drizzle with lime juice and serve and serve with chips or vegetables.

Beyoncé’s Guacamole

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados (a bit soft to the touch)
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 clove garlic 
  • 1 small tomato, diced
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons lime juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Corn chip scoops

Instructions

  • Peel avocados and remove the pit.
  • Mash with a spoon in a large bowl.
  • Add onion, garlic and tomato, lime juice, salt and pepper.
  • Mix well.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes
  • Fill corn chips scoops with guacamole and enjoy

Michael Bublé’s Asparagus Risotto

We can’t leave the guys out of this lineup! Though many fellas would choose beer and burgers, Michael Buble’s addition fits perfectly with his calm, peaceful entertainment complimenting this tasteful recipe to fit the atmosphere!

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 to 3 yellow bell peppers, cubed
  • ¾ cup sliced, fresh carrots
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into small pieces
  • 3 chicken bouillon cubes (Oxo), crumbled
  • ½ to 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cup arborio rice (brown rice can be used)
  • ½ cup water
  • Black pepper

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, saute the onion in butter until translucent.
  • Add peppers and carrots and saute until soft.
  • Add the asparagus and cook for a couple of minutes.
  • Add the chicken bouillon cubes and half the Parmesan cheese.
  • Stir in the rice and ½ cup water.
  • Cook, stirring, until the water is absorbed.
  • Continue to cook, adding water by the half cup and stirring continuously, until the rice is tender. -Stir in the remaining Parmesan and pepper to taste.
  • Serve immediately.
